Comms Cards are quick-reference guides for radios that give you instant access to frequencies, channel layouts, and key settings without needing an app, signal, or memory. They’re designed for real-world use when time matters, like at the range, during travel, in emergencies, or when setting up a new radio. Instead of digging through menus or trying to remember frequencies, you can glance at the card and get what you need immediately.
It depends on the service. HAM frequencies (2m/70cm) require a Technician class FCC license. GMRS requires an FCC GMRS license ($35, no test, 10 years, covers your whole family). MURS and FRS at legal power are license-free. The cards note which frequencies require licensing.
PACE stands for Primary, Alternate, Contingency, Emergency—a comms planning framework used by military and emergency responders. The fillable template on the card lets you write in your frequency plan so your whole group has the fallback sequence on them at all times.
